It's the second day of the skills training camp..yay!! And it has finally ended and we can finally have more sleep..
In the morning, we spent more than an hour's time waiting for the Catholic High scouts..OMG! They were late for 1 1/2 hours and poor A.Guides had to sit outside the guides den waiting for them as though they are the kings..
So before they arrive, other UG came and slacked around like us..and the Brownies(the earliest) went to the classrooms to have their own personal training on knots and lashings(by our own guides I think?)
So, at 9am, we settled ourselves at the field, got into groups and went around different stations learning different gadgets.
The first gadget that my team practised was the table. It was so troublesome..had to tie so many square lash, a few diagonal lashes and the snake lash. Snake lash was so troublesome..had to tie a knot here and there..got a little confused..duh!
After this, we had our ELEVENSES! This time round, it's biscuits..Julie biscuits! We got 3 packets and shared among ourselves(Valerie, Manisha, Yun Hui, Bao Yi and myself). Drank plain water only.. :) And we rested while others were still eating..
Then we proceeded on to the Shoe Rack! Had to hammer or mallet four poles into the groud...haha..quite fun..:)) Just some simple square lash to tie and that was done! Yay! When we pull out the poles, there were quite deep holes in the ground..then the in-charge for that station were wondering if Major Chong would notice them..but I don't think so..grass grows so quickly that by the time he goes round for checking, the grass would have covered the hole..so..there's no need to worry.. :D
Next we practised making the luggage rack(I think so??). It's also square lash throughout the whole gadget..
Yay! It's lunch time! Feeling rather famished right then..but since it's also the same meal as yesterday's, Nasi Lemak, I suddenly had not much appetite..And the rice seemed uncooked! It's hard! Eww!! Five of us couldn't finish our packets of rice and just threw them away..
Later on, we carried on our last station - clothes rack!
Had to tie diagonal lash for the two standing poles, then square lash for the other parts...
OMG! My knots and lashing really sucks! Don't even know what hitch to start before lashing..damn!
Must remember: Clove Hitch - Square lash; Timber Hitch - Diagonal lash!!!
I mean, I've always been tying clove hitch for the diagonal lash!, and the timber hitch had to be around the two poles! Argh!!
Then this guy told me to tie a thumb knot or whatever after the clove hitch to tighten it or whatever, but I don't know what the thumb thing is until YiTeng told us about it at the end of the camp. (Hao diu lian wor!)...blah blah..
Wah! It started drizzling and everyone began running into shelter with the poles and everything..
We had to 'protect' the poles, not to let them get wet blah blah..so our current job was to remove the twines and everything, dry and clean the dirty poles, tie then poles into a bundle etc. Got us busy ehh..quite a few maybe.
Later on, we had the prize presentation thing again! S2pid lar..
Miss Ong's presenting the token to the representatives today..every brownie got a small little thing which I dunno what it was coz the band was there making lots of noise..
Then the scouts left while the Brownies and us guides left behind for a little game! Lame games!
Had this Guides Own?? thingy..find the other part of the brownie or guide law and then explain what it means etc. Lame right?
Then there was this game where it's quite er..dunno how to explain it but..it's more for Brownies than us..
Brownies had to turn 5 rounds(Guides to turn 10 rounds), place the ping-pong ball onto the spoon which is held in our mouths, then had to walk inside the given space, walk on the brick steps, stand behind a white line and start throwing the ping-pong ball into the bucket..
Yay! My group won! Oriole plus two Kingfisher - Bao Yi and me.. We actually wanted to lose but well, in the end, we still won..duh!
Nearing the end still...
Brownies had already left, we're still outside the guides den listening to people making their speeches..about the knots and lashing, 'amazing race' with Catholic High, YA open house etc. Took up quite some time..but ended earlier today! At 5pm! Hurray!!
Yay! There'll be no more 'training'(getting more sunburns and cuts rather than learning new skills) camp tomorrow!! Haha! :D But it's still quite fun despite the hot sun and boring skills stuff..

Ok..I'm sidetracking now, not talking about the camp and so on, but I wonder to myself why many people dislike Miss Ong.
"She looks like a freak"
"She's so..."
Er..to me, I find that she's still quite a nice person(though I'm sure many diagree with me). Once you get to know more about her, she can be like a good buddy. Teachers can't be a student's buddy, but you know what I mean...having a good relation..so this is all I have to say..
