This post's gonna be quite long. :PFor the past five days, I was in Bangkok..Enjoyed the trip and learned a few things.. :)Okay..I'm going to type out what I did during those five days and what mistakes my family made.. :)wee =DDay 1 -9/11Plane departs at 6pm+, so we reached the Budget Terminal at about 4pm. Had tea break at Killiney Kopitiam..and waited to check in. The budget terminal was a little plain though..seemed as though the security was not as tight as the other 2 terminals..??Everything was 'budget' - the shops(Hang Ten, Minitoons, etc.) instead of branded items. Well, it's a budget terminal so everything must be affordable. :)I was feeling happy while boarding the 'Tiger Airway' plane..we had to walk on the runways instead of the sheltered thingy..but it felt cool! It's my second time boarding a plane like this.By the time we reached Bangkok, it was already 10pm Thailand time, which was 11pm Singapore time. We searched for restaurants but it seemed that all shops are closed?? Then this Tuk-tuk driver came to us and offeed to drive us to a restaurant for just 10 baht?!We didn't know and so we took up the offer and went to eat in that restaurant..and we spent about 2,400 baht(SGD$100). This is so not worthy..five dishes for $100, the service is not good either and the ambience..well, it's not so good too. WE WERE CHEATED!!So, we learnt a lesson..never to believe in such 'deals'?? We would rather pay more to an honest person than to those drivers who use this kind of trickery to cheat us of our money! The reason they charged us for only 5 or 10 baht is because they will get free petrol when they bring in customers.. OMG! How can they do this just because of free petrol?!Haiz..after dinner, we took a taxi back to our hotel, Baiyoke Suite. Had a good night's sleep..Day 2 -10/11Had breakfast at the highest level in the hotel, 43rd floor. The view was nice, but the breakfast didn't taste good. I don't really like American breakfast which includes toasted bread, buns, etc. Ate very little for breakfast..I think we had our breakfast at 9am+? That was the earliest day we went for breakfast. After breakfast, we went to Chinatown. Went to the shop that sells Chinese sausages..and bought 2 bags of it. Walked around and almost got lost..but we still got out of it in the end. Then we went to Mabukong(I think so and is it spelt like that?), MBK in short. It's a large shopping centre. Shopped around for many hours..then we had lunch at the food court. I think all food courts in Thailand use coupons to purchase food? It's quite troublesome because you have to change money for coupons before you buy your food, and if you have any extra money left, you have to change it back to cash again..troublesome ehh?Later around evening, we went to Lotus shopping mall.. The traffic jam was so serious that no taxi driver would drive us there by meter..so in the end we walked there. I thought it was just a few km away, but it turned to be further away from the hotel..We took about 45 minutes getting there and our legs were sore..had to sit down somewhere fast..I think my mum's legs doesn't hurt much because she immediately went to the the hypermarket to shop. We bought lots of clothes, food..and the bill totalled more than 2000baht..wow! That's so much money..Bought home bags of stuff..We didn't have our dinner in the shopping mall.. We walked to some other place away from the mall..Somboon..a Chinese restaurant for dinner..Had Tom Yum soup! Today's bill was slightly cheaper..1300 baht..lols :) Can't believe we're spending so much everyday..Went back to hotel quite late, as usual..Day 3 -11/11Morning's as usual..had very little for breakfast..can't believe that kind of breakfast costs US$10?!The foods the same as usual..I think I'm already getting tired of the food there.. :(After breakfast, took a taxi to Jatujak or Chatuchak weekend market. It's was quite crowded there..Bought quite a lot of stuff, mostly clothes, my mum's and brother's..damn! There were so many cute stuff there I want to buy but they said 'NO!'..haiz.. :((I've got a few stuff for myself - ankle socks, hair clips, a bigger sling bag('brandless')..Well, it's shopping whole day long..boring..and tiring. -.-` It was so hot in the afternoon there.. Was sweating like siao there..Then we visited the 'Four-faced buddha' near the world trade centre..prayed for a short while.. then went shoppinng again around the area..many shopping centres..but their things are expensive. Day 4 -12/11I don't know where we went to today but it's like a wholesale market. All the stalls are crowded along the streets..very stuffy, hot! My mum bought lots of clothes again..duh! Walked and walked and walked..I saw a train! It's my first time seeing a train that carries passengers!! Cool! And I see a few Caucasians.. We walked again..and this time we came to a dead end, so we walked back again and flaged a taxi to take us back to the hotel. Took a long time to find one taxi that would go on meter..(It's always better to travel on meter than the driver giving a price). Today's activities were quite boring..didn't have much fun..At night, went to Big C supermarket and bought some stuff..no..6 bags of stuff..clothes!!Grrggghhh! Clothes! Clothes! Clothes! We have already bought so many pieces of clothings and we're still here buying..Day 5 -13/11Today's the last day we're staying at Bangkok..feeling a little sad :(( *sobs*.. Just walked around the hotel, bought a stuff or two.. then went back to the hotel room to pack our stuff..Left the hotel at 5pm and headed towards Suvarnabhumi Aiport! Quickly swallowed our burger(our dinner) as we were late for our flight..our flight was delayed by half and hour and so reached Singapore at 12 midnight..And it was about 1.30am by the time we reached home.. And here I am writing this blog..at 3.30am!! Bleh! Going off to bed now..mum's getting angry..haha :P
